The Tangled Woods

Well, I probably spent some time there as sort of a late night lost my mind tourist kind of a thing. In order to write the song though I must have gotten back out.

The tangled woods are bleeding
But so darkly no one knows
And they keep the shadows breathing when it flows
There's some crystal on the mirror
I've been watching it since dawn
Drinking blood and roses till it's gone

Cities on the shore
Yes and there's time cards on the dock
They punch the winds for mercy from a clock
Cities on the shore
Yes and there's time cards on the dock
They punch the winds for mercy from a clock

It's a hard song to dance to
Even if you dance or not
You're either burnig with the fever
Or you rot
And it is little more than pity that
Takes you in the end
For once the dream is broken then you bend

Cities on the shore
Yes and there's time cards on the dock
They punch the winds for mercy from a clock
Cities on the shore
Yes and there's time cards on the dock
They punch the winds for mercy from a clock

The tangled woods are bleeding
But so darkly no one knows
And they keep the shadows breathing when it flows
There's some crystal on the mirror
I've been watching it since dawn
Drinking blood and roses till it's gone
